Dr Lawrie is a specialist Dermatologist who trained at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban under the very close mentorship of well renowned, locally and internationally respected, multiple research award and well recognised leader Prof Ncoza Dlova. She has been awarded a diploma in child health and has a very keen interest in Peadiatric dermatology (skin disorders of childhood) as well as Dermsurgery. She is very passionate about patient education and prevention of skin disease.

Dr Lawrie was the recipient of an award for one of the best MMed research projects at the recent Registrar awards hosted by UKZN in Dec 2018. To enhance her other interest in dermsurgery, she has also been awarded a scholarship to spend time at Harvard, in Nov 2018 with one of the skin cancer experts. She has gained a lot of experience in screening and treating skin cancer and is competent in Dermatological Surgery.
